Some tunes never get old.  This is a genuine roots reggae classic, recorded sometime around 1976 / 1977, produced by Jamaican producer Jack Ruby and originally released in the UK as a 12″ on Lloydie Coxsone’s Tribes Man label c/w Jimmy Lindsey’s Easy.  The song is written and sung by the late Fabienne Miranda – the spelling of her name appears in various permutations – a Californian poet who moved to Jamaica inspired by the vision of Ras Daniel Heartman as Pedro in the movie The Harder They Come.  She cut two songs, Prophecy and the lesser known but no less crucial Destiny for Ruby, with its brooding melody, strident vocals and lyrics and monumental bassline, becoming an instant roots classic.  Don’t overlook this opportunity to hold it again.
