Vibration Lab have been on an amazing journey, a true labour of love. It all started back, last summer when we played at the One Love Festival in the U.K. We found out that one of our all-time heroes Linval Thompson (The voice behind such hits as: ” I Love Marijuana” “Don’t Cut Off Your Dreadlocks” “Jah Jah The Conqueror” “Dreader Than Dread” “Ride On Dreadlocks” “Mr. Bossman” and too may more to mention) was going to be playing as well. By chance, we bumped into him back stage and talked of a collaboration. The next Monday we met him to voice on one of our tracks at the famous Stingray Studio in London. On the walls of the studio were photos of visits from the likes of Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs, Freddie Mcgregor and nearly every other important figure in Reggae music for the past 20 years. Working with Linval was an honour and he was a very humble and gracious person who hasn’t seemed to age much over the years. His voice is as strong as it ever was and we recorded two songs that day. It was a great experience for us.

When it came time to figure out who we wanted to remix this project two names came to mind. First, RSD aka Rob Smith aka Smith & Mighty, who was an original inspiration for our sound and whose records like “Kingfisher” “Forward Youth” and “Jah Way” showed us the possibilities. The other was an artist named Radikal Guru, who was also an early influence for Vibration Lab with tracks like “Rudeboy Skank/Kingston Town” and “Strong Dub”.  We really felt blessed when they both agreed to do it and the results blew our mind! The significant thing about this project is that all the mixes have their own unique sound and all our outstanding! Next we found two Dub Stars of the future, Riddim Tuffa who have been blazing up the the scene with their special Digi-Dub style and fashion and the incredible Adam Prescott who has been remixing the likes of Mungos Hi-Fi and making dubs with Brother Culture and Daddy Freddy.

When we got the mixes back we knew had something special. We knew we had to release this E.P on vinyl as well as digital. So we went back to have it mastered at Stardelta Labs who have done such a good job on all our releases and who are handling the vinyl for us as well. The vinyl release will be 500 limited edition 12″ double packs.
Released on May 4th 2012
