Chazbo (Roots Temple Records)
MC Ramon Judah
Tudor Lion (Channel One Crew)
Shere Khan (Channel One Crew)
Real Roots (22 tracks)

FRIDAY 18th MARCH at CAFE 1001.

Rubadub promotions are delighted to announce this pure in heart rootsman and woman affair in the deep belly of East London, Brick Lane. Featuring hungry young selectors with love in their heart and dubplate in them bag, and established producers and soundmen from across the UK roots spectrum.

Mighty far eastern warrior Chazbo has been lacing out dubplates since the 90s… One of the figureheads of the UK roots movement, Chazbo’s performances are filled with heavyweight pressure, balanced with some sweet melodica melodies and raw energy to boot…. it is a joy to have Chazbo on the lineup.

Tudor Lion:

A long serving crew-member of Channel One Sound System and one of Rubadub’s very own resident selectors, Tudor Lion is one to watch out for from todays generation of emerging sound system-ites. Having played at Rototom Reggae Sunsplash and Outlook Festival and holding several residencies, he has established a strong presence throughout the UK and it is more than a pleasure to invite him down to stoke the fire.

Shere Khan Sound:

Young hungry dub marine stepping forth out of the Channel One Sound System Academy, and resident DJ on the mighty LIFE FM. Shere Khan selects in arenas around the country and abroad, recently coming back from playing in Columbia, offering his own brand of deep, dark, powerful and hard hitting rootical tunes from eras both old and new. Nothing watered down, no compromise, just pure, unfiltered music.

Real Roots:

It is with pleasure to announce the presence of Real Roots on the lineup… selectors like Satta Man and Paulo. These two have been working tirelessly keeping roots music flowing throughout London over the last few years, notably with their killer Real Roots Radio Show broadcast weekly. They have played all over London, notably w/ Rootikal in Brixton and through the mighty Channel One Sound System at the Tram on multiple occasions.

Hosting the session will be the heavyweight vocalist Ramon Judah. Fresh back from his tour longside Channel One and Mad Professor, Ramon has been a mainstay in the UK Roots scene for years, tearing down sessions with a voice that wouldn’t be out of place back in the 70s and early 80s.
